My husband surprised me with a pair of these shorts. I was happy to see pockets on them, however, after trying them on, I realized the design was poorly executed. The pockets bulge awkwardly when walking/running, I can't imagine a phone or keys staying in the pocket. I have the design prior to these and although they don't have pockets, I prefer the fit much better.
Lightweight, stretchy shorts that stretch not roll when I squat. I was disappointed that I hadn't lost enough weight to fit in the medium. Exchanging for a large. However, on behalf of myself and several other reviewers-either put in the "external drawcord" or change the item description! I bought these partly due to them having the drawstring so I could adjust the waist as I lost weight. FYI I am an athletic 5'7, @ 160lbs. I need the large, as the medium pulled a little across the front.
These shorts would be nearly perfect if they had a drawstring waistband like the other UA Play Up shorts!
My husband ordered me the black pair and the navy pair. I LOVE them so much. The pockets are my absolute favorite part! They are so comfortable and I would wear them everyday if I could. They are perfect while I am working out as well as running errands around town.
I absolutely LOVE the past 2 versions of the play up shorts. This version, not so much. The pockets make them look bulkier and just overall less appealing, and without the drawstring they are just not as cute! However bad the new style is, the color selection makes them appear MUCH uglier. All the shorts that have two colors are completely DISGUSTING. The colors don't look well together, and it makes the shorts a lot harder to match shirts with. You are no longer able to just buy a pair of navy shorts, you have to get them with a neon green stripe down the side which just makes them unbearable to look at. Overall, I am not appreciative to the change Under Armour has made to a pair of athletic, comfortable, and cute shorts that they used to have. Change back to the old style of play up shorts please!!!
I bought these to wear for work (I'm a sailing coach, so I'm driving boats and running around all day) and I absolutely love them! The fit is so flattering, and they're the perfect length so that they cover your butt but don't look like granny shorts. Very comfy and dry quickly when they get wet. I love that they have roomy pockets too. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that in the sun you can see they have faded a tiny bit despite only being washed a handful of times. They are very worth the price though and I'm definitely buying more. (I'm 5'2 and 125 lbs and I purchased a size small in black.)
I believe I bought my first pair of play up shorts back in 2015. I still wear that same pair and absolutely love them. I gained some muscle (going from a size 4 to 6 in pants) and my size small still fits with some room. I wear these for working out no matter if it's running, strength training, spin class, etc. I LOVE these shorts. Never stop making them!
I love these shorts, they look good, they fit good but the thread on the waist band fell apart after a few times wearing them. I can sew it back up so the waistband string does not fall out of the waist band but disappointing after a couple wears.
Short fits great. Easy to workout in. Leg area is a little wide when doing squats but still comfy. Fits pretty true to size. Ordered another pair. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Finally listening & adding pockets, but where is the drawstring? It's a no-brainer, when you add weight in pockets (keys) you need drawstring to help hold your shorts up! I was so excited to find these with pockets only to be disappointed when I learned they omitted the drawstring. Boo! At least I can bring my chapstick, but the weight of my keys will pull my shorts down. Maybe next year UA...
