I like these shoes! This is my first pair of UA shoes and I am surprised at the fit and the comfort. It took me two runs to get fully adjusted to them and perhaps for them to conform more to my feet. Now when I put them on I experience the same level of comfort of the shoe brand/style I have been using for years. I like the design of the soles, they provide great traction but do not collect rocks in the tread like some other shoes. The shoes connected easily with MayMyRun and seem to be recording as advertised. As a disclaimer, I do not check the MapMyRun results very closely and I record my runs with a Garmin as well. I rotate this pair of shoes with 2 other pair of running shoes so I run in them every third day. I now have about 75 miles on this pair and they still feel like new. The top is quite lightweight and I like the airflow coming in over the toes. The footbox is wide enough to be comfortable but not too wide so as to induce loose movement. Fit is as expected. As a runner, I've tried and own a ton of shoes of different brands and styles. These are up there with the best brands I've tried, and cost less than a premium shoe. The support is ample, even on long distance runs of varying road/trail surface, or they're comfortable enough to wear casually all day.
Order a half size larger than what you usually wear. The connected feature is a nice plus, measuring stride, cadence, etc. I've only had one app connectivity issue so far.
I tried the UA Phantom and returned them, but the Sonic is a superior running shoe. All other UA performance gear I use is top notch. Thank you.
I have owned Genesis 2 RE & Bandit 3, and this is by far the most comfortable of all. I love the Connected Fitness aspect of the shoe and the insights & coaching tips it provides. Solid running shoe! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The new Hovr Sonic’s are awesome!!! I own a pair of the Gemini Record and loved those, the cadence feature on them was a plus and now with the Hovr Sonic’s adding the feature of recording your stride length is a great thing to have. The Hovr Sonic’s felt really great during my run. The cushioning and comfort is a step up from the first records. Thanks Under Armour for making a great pair of running shoes. #UAHOVR [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was leary but the most recent pair of my Go To Shoe just wasn’t as comfortable, especially on long runs. The soles also seemed to be going away rapidly. I had a discount offer so I decided to give the HOVR’s a try. So far, I have no regrets as they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever tried. We’ll see how they last over the long haul.
This is one of the if not the best running shoe I have ever used. I run over 1k miles a year and go through several pair of shoes throughout the year and these are the best. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Overall, nice light shoe for street and easy trails. Breaks in very fast - sizing perfect. Not as much cushioning as I expected, but after running them 12 miles on pavement, more than adequate. Interface with Map my Run works good! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is my first pair of Under Armour shoes and although I had gotten used to having more room in the toe box these were comfortable right out of the box and they do help give me more lift off the ground which for me having Hydrocephalus is something very important for other runners it would be felt as great cushioning without being too much & I enjoy the connected feature on these very much I have been looking at buying a second pair but seems all of the connected versions in my size (10) is sold out already so I guess I will have to wait the brand I had gotten used to does make a connected shoe but at more than double the price of Under Armour I am not sure I would want to pay that much for that much for the shoes especially since these are more than $100 less and are so comfortable to be in. I was sent these in size 10 1/2 size up from some brands I have run or walked in size in drop down goes from XS to XXXL that doesn't tell size of shoes.
I generally run about 100 miles a month and alternate three pair of shoes in my rotation. When I put these on, I quickly decided these would be great for speed workouts. The fit was spot on and they are very light, yet have a good amount of cushion. So, my first run with these was a 5.5 mile run with numerous 400m intervals. It felt almost effortless running in these and I had no blisters (much better than the Geminis these replaced)! I have now logged 27 miles in these (I had an injury shortly after the first run that hampered my running the last month and a half).
As for the technology piece, I have tried it with MMR tracking while I ran with them and I have tried it without. It synced up fairly quickly after I finished my run, but you do lose some of the metrics when you don't have the app going during your run. For instance, a map of where you run, which may or may not be important. For me, I wanted to see it since the distance measured was less than what is typically measured for my run, so I was interested to see if I could tell if it was related to where the shoe started/stopped tracking me, etc. I like the cadence measure and think it is likely more accurate than other measures since the data is coming from the shoe.
Overall, I think they are great shoes so far and I plan to buy another pair to replace these when they wear out, but likely in a different color than the white ones I got this time around. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is my first pair of UA running shoes and am very pleasantly surprised with the comfort and reaction from the shoe. I typically run 30-50 miles a week and have worn these for about 60 miles over the last month - have enjoyed these runs (8-10 miles at a time). Haven’t tried a long run (13+) in them yet. My only quip is that my pair is all-white and shows dirt poorly. It’s also the reason I haven’t logged more miles with them to this point - weather and trail conditions would mess them up. Overall - very pleased and look forward to seeing how long they last. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
